LSF Introduces Tathya Citra and Yantra Citra to Enhance Content Monitoring

Jakarta, October 28, 2026

The Film Censorship Board of Indonesia (LSF RI) continues to improve its monitoring system through Tathya Citra, a television broadcast recording device, and Yantra Citra, an application for reporting monitoring results. The system is supported by NX Witness software, which can be accessed through NX Cloud.

The introduction of these tools allows film censorship officers to move from using Google Drive for reporting to a dedicated application developed and refined to meet monitoring requirements. The cloud-based system also enables censorship officers to access broadcasts and monitoring recordings from various locations, provided they have a reliable internet connection.

Speaking during a training and outreach session on the use of these tools in Jakarta on Wednesday (October 28, 2026), LSF Commission II Chair Ervan Ismail explained that the two systems were introduced to support LSF RI's responsibility to monitor films following censorship, as mandated by Law No. 33 of 2009 on Film.

The monitoring results will serve as evaluation material for the development of regulations on sanctions, which are currently being proposed to the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI).

“These monitoring tools will make the data more accurate and measurable,” Ervan said.

Meanwhile, Head of the LSF Monitoring Subcommission Erlan Basri added that the new system is expected to make the reporting process more practical, structured, and specific. The improvements are intended to keep pace with advances in digital technology and the growing number of films and series available to the public.

As a result, censorship officers will no longer need to rely solely on conventional methods of watching films and manually recording monitoring findings.

The session also addressed several challenges faced by censorship officers in carrying out monitoring activities. These included differences in content across Information Technology Network (JTI) platforms, delays in report submissions, task statuses marked in red, and discrepancies between Film Censorship Approval Certificates (STLS) and subtitles.
