LSF Launches Updated e-SiAS to Enhance Film Censorship Services

Jakarta, October 27, 2026 — The Film Censorship Board of Indonesia (LSF RI) continues to improve the effectiveness of its censorship services through updates to the Electronic Censorship Administration System (e-SiAS), particularly to accelerate the issuance of Film Censorship Approval Certificates (STLS). Under the current standard operating procedures, STLS certificates are issued within three days of material registration. LSF is working to shorten this process so that certificates can be issued digitally within 24 hours through applicants’ accounts.

This was stated by LSF RI Chair Naswardi during an event introducing the updated e-SiAS application in Jakarta on Tuesday (October 27, 2026). The event was attended by approximately 100 participants, both in person and online, including representatives from the film industry, television broadcasters, universities, film communities, and the Embassies of Spain, Thailand, and Mexico.

In terms of technology, LSF is developing the Intelligent Censorship System (SCS), which includes increasing film material upload capacity to at least 2 GB, plans to integrate a payment gateway, and strengthening system security.

“In the future, we want e-SiAS to accommodate larger film files. This means the system should support uploads of at least 2 GB during film material registration. We also plan to introduce a payment gateway for censorship fees, allowing payments through various digital payment methods,” Naswardi said.

To strengthen application security, Naswardi added that LSF is also conducting penetration testing with support from the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN).

In addition to system development, LSF is utilizing social media, cinema classes, and podcasts to expand public outreach and increase appreciation for Indonesian films. Service integration with relevant ministries and the digitalization of data processing are also part of its efforts to improve service accessibility and efficiency.

Meanwhile, LSF RI Vice Chair Noorca M. Massardi expressed hope that the development of e- SiAS would expand the reach of censorship services internationally.

“In 2026, 2027, and beyond, we hope that this service will be accessible not only to everyone in Indonesia but also to people living abroad. Through continuous development, LSF is committed to providing more modern, secure, transparent, and accountable censorship services to support industry needs and technological developments in the film sector,” Noorca explained.
