LSF Facilitates the Bahari Awards Ceremony
Jakarta, October 30, 2026 — To encourage student creativity through filmmaking, the Film Censorship Board of Indonesia (LSF RI) supported the Bahari On Screen 2026 Awards as a form of appreciation for students' creative achievements in film. The event featured ten finalist films produced by senior high school (SMA) and vocational high school (SMK) students from various regions across Indonesia, including Jakarta and areas outside Java. The event was held in Jakarta on Friday (October 30, 2026).
LSF RI Chair Naswardi praised the quality of the finalists' works, particularly in terms of storytelling, cinematography, and visual presentation. He noted that events such as this provide valuable learning opportunities for young people to become familiar with Indonesia's film industry.
“These outstanding works by students are part of a learning process that will help prepare them to enter Indonesia's film industry in the future, whether as producers, directors, screenwriters, or in other professional roles,” Naswardi said.
Chair of Bahari On Screen 2026, Mis’ari, stated that the event reflects a commitment to providing opportunities for young people to develop their creativity in filmmaking.
“We want to ensure that Bahari On Screen continues to be held every year, giving young people in Jakarta and across Indonesia opportunities to create their own works, particularly in the film industry,” Mis’ari said.
Meanwhile, Museid Coordinator Representative Aryo Bimo Nova Hadi Kusumo observed that the quality of participating films has continued to improve since the event was first held in 2023.
“The quality has continued to improve over the years. Seeing the works created by Indonesian students, I am confident that the future of Indonesia's film industry will be even brighter,” Aryo Bimo said.
He also expressed hope that Bahari On Screen would develop into a film festival that not only presents awards but also provides educational opportunities for its finalists.
In the competition, Ruang Kita from SMKN 1 Puhpelem, Wonogiri, won First Place, followed by The Fraying Tide from MAN 2 Bandung City in Second Place, and Mimpi Aja Dulu from SMKN 45 Jakarta in Third Place.
The Best Storytelling award went to Jalur Kuning from SMKN 3 Jakarta, while Best Cinematography was awarded to Roti Anget 2000 from SMKN 1 Kandanghaur, Indramayu.
The event was also attended by the LSF RI Vice Chair, the Head of the Cultural Protection Division of Jakarta, the Head of the Jakarta Education Office, and representatives of Museid.
Through Bahari On Screen 2026, LSF hopes to encourage more young people to pursue filmmaking and contribute to the continued development of Indonesia's film industry.
