LSF Ensures Systemic Transparency in Public Information

Jakarta, November 18, 2025, the Film Censorship Institution of the Republic of Indonesia  (Lembaga Sensor Film Republik Indonesia) is adopting a systemic approach to guarantee public information transparency, one that integrates regulatory frameworks, institutional structure, and budgetary support. This commitment was emphasized by LSF Chairman Naswardi during the 2025 Public Information Disclosure Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) Public Hearing organized by the Central Information Commission (KIP) in Jakarta on Tuesday (18/11/2025).

According to Naswardi, LSF transparency efforts are deeply embedded in its public education initiatives, especially in age-based film classification. The board collaborates with cinemas, production houses, actor associations, and 64 universities to expand public awareness. “When you watch a film in cinemas and see the age classification jingle, that is part of the transparency we are committed to delivering,” he explained.

Addressing the challenges posed by over the top (OTT) platforms, Naswardi reiterated LSF ongoing efforts to advocate for regulatory parity. “We are fighting to ensure Indonesia’s age classification standards are applied on global OTT platforms. Today, five percent of local OTT content already follows Indonesian standards,” he noted.

During the Public Hearing, LSF appeared in Session III alongside three other public institutions: the Ministry of Agriculture, the National Cyber and Encryption Agency (BSSN), and Jenderal Soedirman University (Unsoed). LSF advanced to this stage after passing the Self-Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) verification, in accordance with KIP Decision No. 06/KEP/KIP/VIII/2025, which outlines the general guidelines for the 2025 national monitoring and evaluation of public information disclosure.

The Public Hearing serves as a decisive stage in determining national rankings for public information transparency. It plays a key role in ensuring that every public institution consistently upholds Law No. 14/2008 on Public Information Disclosure  emphasizing accountability, transparency, and highquality public service delivery.

LSF reaffirmed its commitment to improving information access by strengthening its Public Information and Documentation Management Officer (PPID) and leveraging advancements in digital technology. This includes disseminating information through its official website and social media channels, aiming to bridge the gap between the institution and the public including vulnerable and disabled groups  through accessible, inclusive digital features. With these initiatives, LSF moves closer to becoming a public institution that is transparent, accountable, and adaptive to modern governance standards. (Fay/Nuz)
