Production House Invites LSF to Bring Film Education to Schools

Jakarta, August 4, 2026 — One of the ways to strengthen film literacy is through outreach programs at educational institutions. As part of the National Movement for a Culture of Self-Censorship (GNBSM) initiated by the Film Censorship Board of Indonesia (LSF RI), these activities aim to encourage young people to choose films that are appropriate for their age.

This objective is shared by film production companies, including Imperial Pictures, which has invited LSF RI to participate in film education programs planned for schools across the Greater Jakarta area.

“We want these activities to provide not only entertainment but also meaningful education for students. Therefore, we hope LSF can participate as a speaker in the school roadshow we are planning,” said Imperial Pictures producer Hartawan Triguna during a meeting at the LSF office in Jakarta on Tuesday (August 4, 2026).

LSF Chair Naswardi welcomed the initiative, noting that it would not only strengthen film literacy but also increase students' understanding of the importance of audience age classification.

“LSF's role extends beyond film censorship. We also carry out educational and public outreach programs to improve public understanding of the film sector,” he said.

In addition to discussing LSF's potential involvement in the educational program, the meeting also addressed the importance of film censorship as a form of legal assurance before a film is distributed to the public. LSF also introduced several service improvements currently being developed to enhance the quality of services provided to stakeholders in the film industry. (Michelle Pangaribuan/Tin)
