LSF Awards 2025 Rescheduled Amid Social Considerations
Jakarta, September 3, 2025 – In light of current societal dynamics and with a view to ensuring a smooth and comfortable experience for guests and invitees, the Indonesian Film Censorship Institution (LSF) has announced that the LSF Awards 2025 ceremony will be rescheduled. Originally planned for Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Studio 5 Indosiar in Jakarta, the awards night will now take place at a later date to be confirmed.
“We will announce the new schedule as soon as conditions are deemed more conducive to holding the event successfully,” said LSF Chairperson Naswardi on Wednesday (3/9/2025). He also expressed sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused by the change. “With all humility, we ask for your continued support as we prepare for the upcoming LSF Awards ceremony,” he added.
Now in its fifth edition, the LSF Awards 2025 carries the theme "Beacon of Diverse Screens for Indonesia", a reflection of LSF’s mission to serve as a guiding light for Indonesia’s rich and varied screen culture. Through this initiative, LSF aims to promote film classification, foster self-censorship awareness, and encourage the creation and consumption of quality content that reflects national values.
The Indonesian Film Censorship Institution (LSF) is a permanent, independent state institution tasked with assessing the eligibility of films and film advertisements before they are distributed or exhibited to the public. Film censorship in Indonesia is mandated by Article 57 of Law No. 33 of 2009 on Cinema, which states that all films and film advertisements must obtain a Certificate of Censorship Approval (STLS) from LSF prior to release.
