The Doll Ghawiah
In 1988, Arya (Darius Sinathrya) and Evi (Titi Kamal) leave Jakarta and move to the Babakan Siliwangi area of Bandung with their two daughters, Gita (Aisya Aqilah) and Nala (Laura Moane). However, their relocation marks the beginning of a series of terrifying incidents involving a doll named Ghawiah, which belonged to Uci (Fara Shakila). Uci was a young girl who died alongside her father (Rendi Khrisna) and mother (Putri Patricia) in a hit-and-run accident. With the help of Laras (Sara Wijayanto), a paranormal practitioner, the family struggles to put an end to the vengeance associated with the Ghawiah doll before they become its next victims.
The Doll Ghawiah follows the previous installments of The Doll film series, the most recent of which was released in 2018. While the earlier films were directed by Rocky Soraya, this installment is directed by Guntur Soeharjanto. Guntur previously directed several films, including 99 Cahaya di Langit Eropa, Ranah 3 Warna, and horror films such as Lampor: Keranda Terbang, Makmum 2, Suzzanna: Malam Jumat Kliwon, and Panggonan Wingit. The change in director also introduces a new approach to developing the story of The Doll. The Doll Ghawiah, which uses robotic technology to animate the Ghawiah doll, has been classified by the Indonesian Film Censorship Institution (LSF) for audiences aged 17 and above.
