LSF and the Ministry of Creative Economy Need to Collaborate to Strengthen the Film Ecosystem

Jakarta, July 6, 2026 — One of the priorities of the Ministry of Creative Economy is to strengthen the film sector as one of Indonesia’s creative economy subsectors.

“We see significant opportunities for collaboration with the Film Censorship Board (LSF), so that our respective programs can complement one another in advancing Indonesia’s film industry,” said Deputy for Media Creativity at the Ministry of Creative Economy, Cecep Rukendi, during a meeting at the LSF office in Jakarta on Monday (July 6, 2026).

LSF Chair Naswardi expressed hope that cooperation between LSF and the Ministry of Creative Economy would continue to grow through various collaborative programs, noting that both institutions share the same objective of advancing the national film industry.

“We believe it is important to synchronize programs with various film organizations and institutions so that the partnerships we build can provide broader benefits for Indonesia’s film industry,” he said.

The meeting is expected to serve as an initial step toward strengthening coordination between LSF and the Ministry of Creative Economy in supporting the development of Indonesia’s national film ecosystem. Through sustained collaboration, both institutions aim to implement programs that contribute to the growth of the creative industry.

The recommendations discussed during the meeting are expected to enhance inter-institutional coordination while also serving as input for policies and programs related to the development of the national film ecosystem. (Michelle Pangaribuan/Nuz)
