Jakarta, July 22, 2026 — One of the responsibilities of the Film Censorship Board of Indonesia (LSF RI) is to improve the quality of its services and strengthen coordination with stakeholders in the film and broadcasting sectors. This effort aims to ensure that broadcasting institutions submit films and film advertisements for censorship before they are broadcast. This was stated by LSF Chair Naswardi during a visit to the office of Televisi Republik Indonesia (TVRI) in Jakarta on Wednesday (July 22, 2026).

Naswardi also outlined LSF’s duties and functions while presenting updates on the institution’s ongoing efforts to improve censorship services.

“Amid the rapid development of media, effective film censorship requires support and collaboration from various stakeholders so that the public can enjoy quality programming,” Naswardi said.

The meeting focused on strengthening coordination and exploring opportunities for cooperation between LSF and TVRI in support of film censorship and quality broadcasting. The LSF delegation was received by TVRI Director of General Affairs Rika Damayanti and TVRI Director of Programming and News Arif Adi Kuswardono.

The discussion also covered censorship procedures for various types of content broadcast through television. LSF explained that censorship is conducted in accordance with applicable regulations as part of its responsibility to protect the public from the potential negative impacts of audiovisual content. The institution emphasized that close coordination with broadcasters is essential to ensure that all broadcast materials have completed the required censorship process and comply with the established audience age classifications.

Arif Adi Kuswardono welcomed LSF’s visit to TVRI and emphasized the importance of continued cooperation between the two institutions in supporting high-quality broadcasting.

“There are values that we can build together through this partnership, so that the benefits are felt not only by our two institutions but also by the public,” Arif said.

He expressed hope that the visit would mark the beginning of closer cooperation between LSF and TVRI. Going forward, both institutions are expected to continue developing productive collaboration to provide quality, educational programming that complies with applicable regulations while delivering greater protection and benefits to the public.
