The 2025 LSF Awards: “A Distinctive Honor of Exceptional Significance”
Jakarta, the 2025 LSF Awards (Anugerah Lembaga Sensor Film 2025) stands out as a distinctive celebration that unites three realms of recognition for achievements in television, cinema, and adherence to the principles of self-censorship culture (budaya sensor mandiri).
“This kind of award doesn’t exist anywhere else,” said Naswardi, Chairman of the Indonesian Film Censorship Institution (Lembaga Sensor Film Republik Indonesia / LSF RI), during a joint press conference with Indosiar in Jakarta on Monday (November 3, 2025).
Naswardi explained that the awards serve as a form of appreciation for the television industry, film producers, cinemas, and the wider public who contribute to advancing national cinema. LSF, he added, aims to continue promoting age-based film classification and fostering a self-censorship mindset among Indonesian audiences.
“Films and visual content are no longer confined to television or cinemas, they now thrive across digital and internet based platforms,” Naswardi noted. “Yet, these new formats still fall outside the full scope of official regulation and curation, which is why public literacy is essential.”
The 2025 LSF Awards will be broadcast live on Indosiar on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from Studio 5, Emtek City, Jakarta, featuring a star-studded lineup of musicians, actors, and entertainers including participants of D’Academy 7, Lemon, Putri Ariani, Leslar Family, Ungu, and Dewi Persik.
Harsiwi Achmad, Director of PT Surya Citra Media, Tbk (SCM), shared that the event would blend education, entertainment, and culture in an immersive and dramatic production. “We’re crafting the show to feel cinematic, a creative mix of television and film that’s both educational and exciting to watch,” she said.
The 2025 awards will honor 18 categories, all focused on promoting the values of self-censorship and responsible viewing. The nominees were selected from 58,415 film materials, promotional ads, and television programs submitted through e-SiAS (the Electronic Film Censorship Administration System) between August 2023 and December 2024, resulting in three finalists per category. More than an awards show, Anugerah LSF 2025 embodies LSF’s broader mission to champion ethical, creative, and culturally grounded film viewing in the digital age. (Fay/Nuz)
