Whalefall
Jay Gardiner (Austin Abrams), a young diver searching for his father's body in the waters off the coast of California, is suddenly swallowed alive by a giant sperm whale. Trapped inside the whale with only enough oxygen to survive for one hour, Jay must struggle to find a way out before he runs out of air. As the situation becomes increasingly desperate, he is also confronted by memories of his father and their troubled relationship. His fight for survival becomes both a physical and emotional ordeal, forcing him to confront his past and find the courage to keep living.
Brian Duffield serves as both screenwriter and director of Whalefall. He previously directed the science-fiction horror film No One Will Save You (2023) and wrote the screenplay for Love and Monsters (Michael Matthews, 2020). Whalefall, adapted from Daniel Kraus's 2023 novel of the same name, has been classified by the Indonesian Film Censorship Institution (LSF) for audiences aged 13 and above. (fen)
