Warga Rusun 609
Arka (Morgan Oey), a wealthy man from a prominent family, is forced to leave his girlfriend, Bunga (Ranti Maria), because their relationship does not have his parents’ approval. Pregnant with Arka’s child, Bunga moves into an apartment complex and rarely leaves her room. When Ibu Damai (Ghita Bhebhita) comes to collect the rent, she is shocked to find Bunga dead in Room 609. From that moment on, the residents are haunted by Bunga’s restless spirit, which refuses to leave despite their various attempts to drive it away.
The film is adapted from the legendary Thai horror film Buppah Rahtree (Yuthlert Sippapak, 2003). Director Herwin Novianto previously directed a similar film, Kang Mak from Pee Mak, which was also adapted from a Thai film, Pee Mak (Banjong Pisanthanakun, 2013). The Indonesian Film Censorship Institution (LSF) has classified Warga Rusun 609 for audiences aged 13 and above. (eka)
