Ok Taek Sun (Bae Doo Na), a quiet and unassuming translator, goes on a blind date with Nam Soo Pil (Son Suk Ku), a virologist. But her life takes an unexpected turn after Nam Soo Pil suddenly dies from a mysterious virus and  Taek Sun is suspected to be infected as well. She soon encounters Lee Kyun (Kim Yun Seok), an expert in virology, who informs her that she has contracted a strange virus that causes people to fall in love inexplicably. As the infection transforms her personality shifts from reserved and disheartened to cheerful and romantic. Taek Sun must navigate her new emotions, altered identity, and the mystery of the virus itself.

Virus is adapted from the 2010 novel of the same name by Lee Ji Min. The film boasts powerhouse performances from two of South Korea’s top-tier actors. Bae Doo Na, acclaimed for her role in A Girl at My Door (July Jung, 2014), has received 9 awards and 23 nominations, including Best International Actress at the 2014 Golden Rooster Awards and Best Actress at the 2015 Asian Film Awards. Kim Yun Seok, meanwhile, is a 16 time award winning  Best Actor known for his riveting performance in 1987: When the Day Comes (Jang Joon Hwan, 2018). Blending light romance and quirky humor with heartfelt drama, Virus delivers an unconventional love story with an infectious twist. The Indonesian Film Censorship Institution (LSF) has classified this film as suitable for audiences aged 13 plus. (tal)
