Lowen Ashleigh (Dakota Johnson), a talented young author struggling financially, receives an offer to complete a series of novels by renowned author Verity Crawford (Anne Hathaway), who has been left paralyzed following a tragic accident. Verity’s husband, Jeremy Crawford (Josh Hartnett), invites Lowen to stay temporarily at their home while working on the project. However, Lowen accidentally discovers a hidden draft of Verity’s autobiography. Its contents include disturbing confessions about tragedies within the Crawford family, including the mystery surrounding their daughter’s death.

Adapted for the big screen from Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel, Verity is filled with emotional manipulation and a disturbing atmosphere. Scheduled for release on 2 October 2026, the film explores the thin line between truth and deception, as well as how obsession can cloud one’s judgment. For audiences who enjoy mystery films with startling plot twists, the Indonesian Film Censorship Institution (LSF) has classified Verity for audiences aged 17 and above. Be discerning in selecting content suitable for your age. (ibn)
