Ares (Jared Leto), an artificial intelligence (AI) program from the digital world known as the Grid, is sent into the real world to save humanity from the threats of future technology. As the line between the virtual and real worlds blurs, Ares begins to explore the complexities of human emotion. In his struggle to bridge two opposing realms, Ares confronts existential dilemmas and the conflict between creator and creation.
TRON: Ares marks the third installment in the Tron franchise, following Tron (Steven Lisberger, 1982) and Tron: Legacy (Joseph Kosinski, 2010). Directed by Joachim Rønning known for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017) and Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (2019) the film stars Jared Leto, who also serves as executive producer. A long-time fan of Tron, Leto has been involved in the project’s development since its conceptual stage. The Indonesian Film Censorship Institution (LSF) has rated this film suitable for audiences aged 13 and above.
