Leon K. Prudhomme (Jamie Foxx) a war veteran and leader known as Bokushi forms an organization initially meant to support fellow veterans. Called The Program, it gradually turns into a dangerous cult in Idaho. The government, through military agent Emmanuel Ashburn (Robert De Niro) and Bokushi’s former pupil Nash Cavanaugh (Scott Eastwood), moves to infiltrate and shut it down especially as Bokushi’s weapon stockpile and military-trained followers pose a threat to the United States. Nash also has a personal mission: to rescue his wife, Evoli Carmichael (Nora Arnezeder), a devotee that has been  held by Bokushi.
