Tegar (M. Aldifi Tegarajasa) and Teh Ise (Joanita Chatarine) embark on a journey to Papua, where they encounter the beauty of its land and people. During his stay, Tegar befriends Maira (Elisabeth Sisauta), a young girl from an indigenous Papuan tribe. Through their friendship, Maira teaches Tegar about local traditions, cultural wisdom, and the importance of living in harmony with nature and protecting the forest that sustains their lives.

Teman Tegar Maira is a sequel to Tegar (Anggi Frisca, 2022). Director Anggi Frisca—who began her career as a cinematographer—won the Citra Award at the Indonesian Film Festival (FFI) for Best Cinematography through Night Bus(Emil Heradi, 2017). Combining music, culture, and environmental awareness, this film carries a message of friendship, inclusion, and respect for nature. The Indonesian Film Censorship Institution (LSF) has rated this film suitable for audiences of all ages.
