A former surfer known as “The Surfer” (Nicolas Cage) wants his son, nicknamed “The Kid” (Finn Little), to experience the same happiness he once found in surfing during his youth. They return to Luna Bay, a secluded beach regarded by surfers as a paradise for waves. However, a group of local surfers known as the “Bay Boys,” led by local landowner Scully (Julian McMahon), immediately puts an end to their plans with a warning: “Don’t live here, don’t surf here!” Driven by pride and desperation, The Surfer becomes determined to stand his ground and survive, even as he loses everything one by one—including his sanity.
