Bryan (Bryan Everaldine H. Harianja), a primary school student living in rural East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), faces a life filled with limitations. His hopes are ignited upon hearing about the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) launched by President Prabowo Subianto. The story begins with a simple yet heartfelt letter Bryan writes to the President expressing his dream for all his school friends to enjoy nutritious meals every day. That letter marks the start of a transformation. When the MBG program finally arrives at his school, it brings significant change not only to Bryan’s life but also to his family and the children in his village.
Directed by Iman Brotoseno, currently the President Director of TVRI, Surat untuk Presiden is a powerful blend of realistic and, at the same time, dramatic storytelling. Brotoseno brings extensive experience to the project, he won the Iqbal Rais Award for 3 Srikandi (2016) and has produced thousands of creative works, including films, commercials, music videos, and documentaries. He is also known as a contributor to National Geographic Indonesia. Through its use of local non-professional actors and grounded storytelling, Surat untuk Presiden delivers an authentic and heartfelt portrayal of children's resilience, community spirit, and the role of government programs in improving lives.
