Suka Duka Tawa
Tawa (Rachel Amanda) dreams of becoming a famous stand-up comedian as a way to take revenge on her estranged father, Keset (T. Rifnu Wikana), a well-known TV comic who abandoned her and her mother, Cantik (Marissa Anita). Using her father’s negligence as comedic material, Tawa begins to gain recognition on stage. Yet as her career rises, she starts to uncover more about her father’s past and the pain behind his laughter.
Director Aco Tenriyagelli explores the emotional complexity of human relationships wrapped in humor, sorrow, and self- reflection. Through Suka Duka Tawa, he reflects on how laughter doesn’t always signify happiness, sometimes it masks grief and regret. The film captures both the vibrancy of the comedy scene and the deep, personal wounds that shape its performers. LSF has classified this film for audiences aged 13 and above (anq)
