Snow White
After losing both of her parents, Snow White (Rachel Zegler) is forced to live with her stepmother (Gal Gadot). Obsessed with her own beauty, the stepmother consults her magic mirror daily, asking, “Who is the fairest of them all?”. Snow White, treated as a servant, remains unaware that her kingdom is starving due to her stepmother’s tyranny. When a rebel named Jonathan (Andrew Burnap) tells her the truth, Snow White decides to speak out. But her beauty makes her a target; her stepmother seeks to destroy it with magic. Teaming up with seven dwarfs and the rebels, Snow White embarks on a mission to reclaim the kingdom that once belonged to her father.
This live-action adaptation follows the core storyline of the beloved 1937 animated classic but, in the hands of screenwriter Greta Gerwig, takes on a fresher tone. Unlike the original, where Snow White is portrayed as a passive damsel, the live-action version reimagines her as a stronger, empowered leader. The film champions female resilience and leadership in line with modern values. The Indonesian Film Censorship Institution (LSF) has rated Snow White for viewers aged 13 plus. (tal)
