Gulshan Arora (Aamir Khan), a former basketball athlete whose career ends in failure, struggles to rise from his downfall. Supported by his mother Preeto (Dolly Ahluwalia) and wife Suneeta (Genelia Deshmukh), Gulshan tries to rebuild his life. The court sentences him to serve society by coaching basketball at a special needs school. With the help of Kaarti Padji (Gurpal Singh), the school principal, Gulshan learns to guide his team while rediscovering his self-worth and confidence.
Sitaare Zameen Par is a follow-up to the highly acclaimed Taare Zameen Par (2007), which was both produced and directed by Aamir Khan. This new film is adapted from the Spanish hit Champions (Campeones, Javier Fesser, 2018). True to its heartwarming roots, Sitaare Zameen Par blends humor, love, and humanity in a story of redemption and acceptance. The Indonesian Film Censorship Institution (LSF) has rated the film suitable for audiences aged 13 plus. (miq)
