Darwin (Vino G. Bastian), a photographer, begins to experience disturbing encounters with a mysterious figure after he and his girlfriend, Pia (Anya Geraldine), are involved in a car accident that kills a woman. Soon after, every photo Darwin takes reveals the image of a ghostly woman haunting him. His three friends, Tio (Donny Alamsyah), Reza (Rangga Nattra), and Abi (Andri Mashadi) also begin to experience strange and terrifying events surrounding the incident. Alarmed by the worsening occurrences, Pia decides to uncover the truth behind the haunting, leading to a dark secret from Darwin and his friends’ past involving a woman named Lilis (Niken Anjani).
Shutter is an adaptation of the 2004 Thai horror classic of the same name by Banjong Pisanthanakun. This Indonesian version is directed by Herwin Novianto, who previously achieved success with Kang Mak (2024), another remake of Banjong Pisanthanakun’s Pee Mak (2013). The Indonesian Film Censorship Institution (LSF) has classified this film for audiences aged 13 and above (tal).
