She Rides Shotgun
Fresh out of prison, Nate (Taron Egerton) reunites with his 11-year-old daughter, Polly (Ana Sophia Heger/credited Lucy Capri), a child he barely knows. But their fragile reunion is quickly overshadowed by danger: Nate becomes the target of a violent white supremacist gang and a corrupt sheriff, Mooney (Russell Crowe), who are determined to settle scores from his past.
Forced onto the road, father and daughter embark on a brutal flight across unforgiving landscapes. Along the way, Nate teaches Polly the harsh realities of survival, and together they forge an unbreakable bond that redefines love, sacrifice, and what it means to be family.
Director Nick Rowland, acclaimed for his debut Calm with Horses (2019), brings his signature blend of emotional intensity and raw action to this adaptation. Praised by WhatToWatch and UK Film Review for his gripping storytelling, Rowland’s visual style, noted by Vulture and Gazettely, seamlessly marries visceral action with emotional depth. His background as a rally car driver lends realism to the high-octane chase sequences.
