Inspector Viji (Karthi) must confront Black Dagger (S.J. Suryah), a villain who seeks to obtain three secret keys to gain access to “Doku,” a biochemical weapon of mass destruction. Meanwhile, Sardar (Karthi), Viji’s father, is revealed to have been involved in the “Doku” mission in the past. As the threat escalates, Sardar returns and joins forces with Viji to stop Black Dagger and prevent “Doku” from falling into the wrong hands.

In the film, Karthi plays two characters, Sardar and Viji, across two different time periods. The two characters have distinct backgrounds, personalities, and story arcs within the same film. In addition to expanding the story of the first film, Sardar 2 features a series of action sequences on a larger production scale, including scenes aboard an airplane and a Japanese high-speed train.
