Yura Anindya (Badriyah Afiff) grows up in a Javanese family, shaped by its cultural and spiritual values. However, after marrying Andi Wijaya (Alexzander Wlan), her life takes a dark turn. She must bear the consequences of her husband’s past actions. Yura tries to hide the truth from Bude Utami (Lulu Zakaria) because she wants to maintain the image of a samawa family (sakinah, mawaddah, warahmah—a peaceful, loving, and compassionate family). Meanwhile, Bude Utami has already grown suspicious and becomes increasingly concerned about Yura’s married life.

Director and screenwriter Ganank Dera was previously known for his work as an editor on Coblos Cinta (Findo Purwono, 2008) and From Bandung With Love (Henri Adianto, 2008). The Indonesian Film Censorship Institution (LSF) has classified Samawa for audiences aged 13 and above. (dir)
