The Running Man
Set in a dystopian future in 2057, former soldier Ben Richards (Glen Powell) is forced to take part in the world’s most dangerous television show, The Running Man. The program turns human hunting into live entertainment broadcast nationwide. Driven by desperation and a father’s love, Ben risks his life to earn money to save his critically ill child.
Behind the dazzling screens and roaring audiences lies a far darker game than it appears. Each step Ben takes becomes a gamble between survival, humanity, and his last remaining hope. Adapted from Stephen King’s novel published under the pseudonym Richard Bachman, the 2025 version promises a more psychological and humanistic approach than the 1987 film adaptation starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, while remaining closer to the novel’s grim tone.
The Indonesian Film Censorship Institution (LSF) has rated The Running Man for audiences aged 17 and above. Viewers are advised to choose films wisely according to age classification. Be Discerning in Selecting Content Suitable for Your Age (fen)
