Kenna (Maika Monroe) is released from prison after serving a seven-year sentence. During her time in prison, she gave birth to a baby girl named Diem (Zoe Kosovic), whom she has never had the chance to see since birth. Diem is the daughter of Kenna and Scotty (Rudy Pankow), Kenna’s partner who died in a single-car accident. The incident led to Kenna’s imprisonment following charges brought by Scotty’s parents, Grace (Lauren Graham) and Patrick (Bradley Whitford), who have since raised Diem and refuse to allow Kenna any contact with her. After her release, Kenna returns to her hometown in an effort to rebuild her life and reunite with her child, but her journey faces many obstacles, even with the help of Ledger (Tyriq Withers), Scotty’s close friend.

Adapted from the novel of the same title by Colleen Hoover (2022), which has sold six million copies in the United States and been translated into 45 languages, this film marks the third screen adaptation of her work, following It Ends with Us (2024) and Regretting You (2025). Hoover also serves as executive producer and screenwriter for the film. Containing several intense adult scenes, the film has been classified by the Indonesian Film Censorship Board (LSF) for audiences aged 17 and above. Be discerning in selecting content suitable for your age. (nwo)
