REAWAKENED MAN: THE RED
Seok-Hwan (Koo Kyo-Hwan), a hot-tempered man, remains unemployed at the age of 31. He believes his life is destined to be that of an ordinary failure. One night, however, he is brutally attacked and abducted by a group of men, leaving him on the verge of death. Instead of dying, Seok-Hwan comes back to life on the third day. He discovers that he now possesses physical abilities far beyond those of an ordinary human. Before he can recover from the shock, he is confronted with an even more bewildering truth: Seok-Hwan is not his real name, the men who tried to kill him are not debt-collecting thugs, and his adoptive uncle is not an ordinary man either.
The film is adapted from the popular South Korean webcomic Buhwalnam (Chae Youngtaek and Kim Jaeha, 2016). Director Baek Jong-Yeol decided to feature prominent South Korean actress Kim Yoo-Jung in a cameo role to reinforce the significance of Seok-Hwan’s character and his ability to repeatedly come back to life. The Indonesian Film Censorship Institution (LSF) has classified Reawakened Man: The Red for audiences aged 17 and above. Be discerning in selecting content suitable for your age. (nkn)
