Project Hail Mary
Ryland Grace (Ryan Gosling), a high school science teacher, awakens alone aboard a spacecraft. Far from Earth, he has no memory of his identity or mission. As fragments of his past gradually return, he realizes he has been sent on a challenging journey to stop a mysterious microorganism that is draining the sun’s energy and threatening all life on Earth. Relying on his scientific knowledge and unconventional thinking, Grace races against time. Along the way, he discovers an unexpected friendship in space that brings hope for humanity’s survival.
Directed by the duo Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, known for their creative and successful works such as The Lego Movie and the Academy Award–winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Project Hail Mary is adapted from the novel by Andy Weir, the author of The Martian. The film combines scientifically grounded storytelling with engaging narrative elements. The Indonesian Film Censorship Board (LSF) has classified the film for audiences aged 13 and above. (aza)
