Pembantaian Dukun Santet
Amidst an ongoing conflict, Annisa (Aurora Ribero), a young student at an Islamic boarding school, finds herself caught in a series of brutal massacres targeting teachers and fellow students. Alongside Satrio (Kevin Ardilova), she attempts to uncover the mastermind behind the terror. With the help of Ustad Bagas (Ariyo Wahab) and Ustad Ridwan (Teuku Rifnu Wikana), they struggle to survive while protecting others from the horrors both inside and outside the pesantren.
Pembantaian Dukun Santet is adapted from a viral X (formerly Twitter) thread by JeroPoint, which delved into the dark history and chilling mysteries surrounding the infamous 1998 killings of “sorcerers” in Banyuwangi, just before the fall of Indonesia’s New Order regime. JeroPoint’s writings have previously been brought to the big screen, including Di Ambang Kematian (Azhar Kinoi Lubis – 2023) and Perewangan (Awi Suryadi – 2024). Featuring scenes of graphic violence, LSF has rated this film for audiences aged 17 and above. Viewers are encouraged to choose films wisely in line with the classification. (won)
