Pasukan 1000 Janda
Admiral Malahayati (Atiqah Hasiholan) once again becomes involved in the struggle of the Acehnese people. This time, she must confront Dutch forces led by Cornelis van De Kraker (Ron Smoorenburg), who seek to control the Strait of Malacca and occupy Aceh. At the time, Malahayati is living in seclusion in a fishing village after stepping down from her position as commander of the Aceh Darussalam Sultanate's forces following the battle against the Portuguese naval fleet. The situation changes when Dutch troops attack her village and kill all the men, most of whom are fishermen. The attack leaves behind the women, particularly widows who have lost their husbands and must now protect their families and children. Witnessing their suffering, Malahayati takes the initiative to gather and train these widows, forming a resistance force. She successfully builds a new fighting force to confront the Dutch while defending their village against the threat of colonial occupation.
Set in the Strait of Malacca in 1599, the film portrays resistance against colonial forces through a combination of battle sequences, military strategy, and elements of historical fantasy. Scheduled for theatrical release on 12 November 2026, Pasukan 1000 Janda offers entertainment while introducing younger generations to an Acehnese female national hero. The Indonesian Film Censorship Institution (LSF) has classified Pasukan 1000 Janda for audiences aged 13 and above. (ind)
