Nobody Loves Kay
Kay (Bima Azriel), a teenager with a passion for gaming, dreams of becoming a professional Mobile Legends player. Determined to reach the highest level of competitive esports, he sacrifices relationships with those closest to him in pursuit of success. Amid fierce competition, negative perceptions from those around him, and repeated setbacks, Kay remains committed to proving that he has what it takes to become one of the best.
The character of Kay is inspired by Kairi, a professional esports player from the Philippines, although the film is not a biographical account of his life. Produced in collaboration with ONIC Esports, one of Southeast Asia’s largest professional esports organizations based in Indonesia, the film presents a realistic portrayal of the competitive world of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB). Through its depiction of ambition, perseverance, and personal sacrifice, the story explores the challenges faced by young athletes pursuing their dreams in the rapidly growing esports industry. Due to its frequent use of strong language, the Indonesian Film Censorship Institution (LSF) has rated the film for audiences aged 17 and above. Be discerning in selecting content suitable for your age. (ian)
