Nia Kurnia Sari
Based on a true story from Padang Pariaman Regency, the film follows the life of Nia Kurnia Sari (Syakira Humaira), an 18-year-old fritter seller. A pious and hardworking young woman, Nia becomes the family’s breadwinner after her parents’ divorce. She supports her mother Eli (Helsi Herlinda), who suffers from a thyroid illness, her older half-sister Rini (Eka Putri Maharani), and her younger sister Mayang (Aisyah Zahira), while her father Asril (Zainal Chaniago) lives separately in Dumai. One rainy afternoon, while returning home along a quiet forest path, Nia is attacked by Andri (Qya Ditra), an unemployed youth and ex-convict from a neighboring village. He assaults and murders her, burying her body near an irrigation riverbank. Shocked and grieving, villagers, police officers, and Makwo (Neno Warisman) launch an intensive search for Nia. Three days later, her body is discovered, while Andri flees the village.
This film, portraying violence and the harsh realities of survival, serves as a somber reminder of vulnerability and resilience. The Film Censorship Institution of the Republic of Indonesia (LSF) has rated this film suitable for audiences aged 13 and above. (air)
