Cinta Pertamaku
Mentari (Giselle Nicoleen Cahadi), an elementary school student, lives with her father, Rais (Fadellenon), who has an intellectual disability. Her mother, Ayu Ling (Naomi Putri Harjono), a traditional dancer, died after an illness. Because of his limitations, Rais works as a street cleaner, a job that makes Mentari the target of bullying at school. Despite this, Mentari remains proud of her father and longs to make him proud in return. Her chance arrives when she is asked to perform a traditional dance at a school event, but Rais cannot bring himself to watch because it painfully reminds him of his late wife.
Directed by Kamarul Akbar, the film is a local Makassar production supported by the regional government and featuring performers from South Sulawesi. The story highlights resilience, family bonds, and cultural pride through traditional dance, as Mentari seeks acceptance and her father confronts grief. Their journey tests love and understanding while celebrating community support and youthful determination. The Indonesian Film Censorship Institution (LSF) has rated the film for all ages (SU). (sof)
