MY BELOVED STRANGER
Riku (Kento Nakajima) and Minami (Milet) meet at university and fall in love. Riku dreams of becoming a renowned novelist, while Minami aspires to become a singer. With Minami’s support, Riku succeeds in writing his works, and she is always the first person to read them. However, Minami’s own dream never comes true. When Minami is about to read Riku’s latest novel, a single cold remark shatters everything. The next morning, Riku wakes up in an unfamiliar world. He is no longer a novelist, but an ordinary editor. Minami is now a famous singer and does not know Riku at all. Together with his friend Kajiwara (Kenta Kiritani), Riku tries to understand this new world and find his lost love again.
My Beloved Stranger is adapted from the French film Mon Inconnue (Hugo Gélin, 2019). Actor Kento Nakajima is a member of the Japanese boy band Sexy Zone. Nakajima previously appeared in Omae no Tsumi o Jihaku Shiro (Nobuo Mizuta, 2023) and Love Like the Falling Petals (Yoshihiro Fukagawa, 2022). Director Takahiro Miki is known for films including Omoi, Omoware, Furi, Furare (2020), The Door Into Summer (2021), Akira and Akira (2022), Tang (2022), and Yomei Ichinen to Senkoku Sareta Boku ga, Yomei Hantoshi no Kimi to Deatta Hanashi (2024). The Indonesian Film Censorship Institution (LSF) has classified My Beloved Stranger for audiences aged 13 and above. (poc)
