Michael
This biographical film tells the life story of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson (Jaafar Jackson), from his childhood performing with his siblings in the Jackson 5. As a young performer, Michael (MJ) spent much of his time singing on stage and undergoing rigorous vocal and musical training under the strict discipline of his father, Joe Jackson (Colman Domingo). The group practiced almost every day without rest, shaping MJ into a determined teenager who sought his own identity as a solo artist. He eventually succeeded in breaking away from both the Jackson 5 and his father’s control.
The role of Michael is portrayed by Jaafar Jackson, MJ’s nephew, who brings the legendary figure to life through strong vocal and dance performances. Directed by Antoine Fuqua and produced by Universal Pictures in collaboration with producers John Branca, Graham King, and John McClain, the screenplay is written by John Logan, known for works such as Gladiator (2000), The Last Samurai (2003), Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007), The Aviator (2004), Hugo (2011), Skyfall (2012), and Spectre (2015). The Indonesian Film Censorship Board (LSF) has classified Michael for audiences of all ages (SU). (nmn)
