Menjelang Magrib 2: Wanita yang Dirantai
Giandra (Aditya Zoni), a young doctor graduated from STOVIA, is troubled after reading a news article about a girl named Layla (Aisha Kastolan), who has been shackled in a remote village called Karuhun. In that community, such confinement is still believed to be a traditional “cure” for mental illness.
Giandra travels to the village, where he meets Rikke (Aurelia Lourdes), a Dutch-Indonesian journalist. They discover Layla, chained and isolated in a rundown hut. Disturbed by what he sees, Giandra urges Layla’s grandmother (Mutia Datau) to release her and seek proper medical treatment instead.
Menjelang Magrib 2: Wanita yang Dirantai is a chilling sequel to director Helfi C.H. Kardit’s 2022 psychological horror Menjelang Magrib. Set in the 1920s, the film explores themes of tradition, trauma, and the conflict between modern science and deep-rooted beliefs.
