Fais (Dimas Seto), the son of KH Abdullah (Hengki Tornando)h, leads a life devoted to the Al Mubarak Tahfidz Islamic boarding school, known for providing free education to orphaned and underprivileged children. Before his passing, Fais’s father leaves a mandate that only a man with a male heir may inherit leadership of the pesantren. This condition becomes a profound challenge for Fais and his wife, Dania (Dini Aminarti).The couple has only one daughter, Arumi (Anantya Kirana), and Dania can no longer conceive after undergoing a hysterectomy. As faith, tradition, and personal devotion collide, Dania struggles to protect her family and marriage.
Inspired by real-life stories from Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia, the film explores the emotional cost of expectations and the meaning of true devotion. The Indonesian Film Censorship Institution (Lembaga Sensor Film) has rated the film for audiences aged 13 and above.(fat)
