Mattaro Janci
Raka (Irwandi Irgantara) and Dinda (Alya Kartika Putri), who have been in a relationship for four years, plan to get married. However, the death of Dinda’s sister, Ayla (Erika Calando), in an accident leads her parents to ask Dinda to marry her brother-in-law, Bayu (Nur Ilham Akbar), as Ayla and Bayu have a newborn baby. Faced with the choice between fulfilling her parents’ request or continuing her relationship with Raka without their approval, Dinda struggles with a difficult situation that affects her life.
Mattaro Janci is a film that uses the Minangkabau language as its main dialogue. It is produced by young filmmaker Irwandi Irgantara, who aims to introduce local films to a wider audience in Indonesia. With themes of family, love, friendship, and respect for parents, the film has been classified by the Indonesian Film Censorship Board (LSF) for audiences aged 13 and above. (tal)
