MAJU (The Bitter Trail of the Candy)
Wira (Bukie B. Mansyur) is a teacher and scout leader to his students: Kirana (Putri Leticia), Hanna (Beby Christanto), Bagas (Aradhana), and Gerald (Axandro Juliano). They plan to survey the site for a Scout Jamboree in the village of Segosari. Bagas, a big fan of a popular candy brand at the time, doesn’t join his teacher and friends when they visit the house of Village Head (Unang Hadi Prabowo), as he is feeling unwell and stays in the car. When the group returns, Bagas has vanished. The presence of Adit (Alby Ersani), a local boy often bullied by others, becomes a key factor in uncovering Bagas’s whereabouts.
The film raises awareness about the circulation of drugs disguised as candy targeting schoolchildren. Supported by the National Narcotics Board (BNN) and the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Cultural Affairs (Kemenko PMK), filming took place in Yogyakarta from April to May 2025. Actor Bukie B. Mansyur previously starred in one of Indonesia’s highest-grossing films, Agak Laen (Muhadkly Acho – 2024), and the hit Pabrik Gula (Awi Suryadi – 2025). The Indonesian Film Censorship Institution (LSF) has classified this film for all audiences.(nwo)
