Lee Cronin’s The Mummy
Charlie Cannon (Jack Reynor), a television journalist, and his wife Claire (Laia Costa) live under the shadow of losing their daughter after Katie (Natalie Grace) mysteriously disappeared while the family was stationed in Cairo, Egypt. Years later, Katie is found alive in Egypt and brought back to their home country. However, her physical and psychological condition has changed significantly. The unsettling atmosphere following her return leads Charlie to investigate the truth behind her disappearance. With the help of police officer Detective Zaki (May Calamawy), they uncover an ancient and dark secret with terrifying consequences.
The Mummy (2026), directed by Lee Cronin, presents a new interpretation that differs significantly from the adventure-driven The Mummy franchise. Known for his intense horror style, Cronin portrays the “mummy” not as a traditional monster, but as a dark and cursed ancient force. The Indonesian Film Censorship Board (LSF) has classified this film for audiences aged 17 and above. Be discerning in selecting content suitable for your age. (feb)
