Laut Tengah
Haia (Yoriko Angeline) dreams of becoming successful and earning a scholarship to pursue a master’s degree in her dream country, South Korea. A tragedy from her past nearly derails her ambitions, until Zaidan’s (Aliando Syarief) love puts the dream of “studying in Korea” back on Haia’s list of hopes. However, her encounter with Bhumi (Ibrahim Risyad) and his wife, Aisa (Anna Jobling), who is battling cancer, changes the course of Haia’s journey toward achieving her dreams. She must face a complicated story that brings reality, ambition, and love into conflict, connecting three lives across the Mediterranean Sea.
Adapted from Berliana Kimberly’s Wattpad novel of the same title, director Archie Hekagery describes the film as a religious drama with a Korean drama approach. Set in two countries and involving production teams from Indonesia and South Korea, the film has been classified by the Indonesian Film Censorship Institution (LSF) for audiences aged 13 and above.
