Komang
Ode (Kiesha Alvaro) dreams of making it big in Jakarta as a stand-up comedian and musician. To chase his ambitions, he leaves behind not only his family and his hometown on Buton Island, but also his girlfriend, Komang (Aurora Ribero) a Balinese Hindu woman living far from home. Their romance faces the triple challenge of religious differences, long distance, and the presence of Arya (Adzando Davema), a man who shares Komang’s faith and already has the blessing of her mother, Meme (Ayu Laksmi).
Komang is inspired by the real-life love story behind and adapted from the song of the same name by Raim Laode, a stand-up comedian and musician. The Film Censorship Institution (LSF) has rated the film suitable for viewers aged 13 plus. (cha)
