Karate Kid: Legends
Li Fong (Ben Wang), a teenager devoted to kung fu in Beijing, suddenly has to move to New York when his mother, Dr. Fong (Ming-Na Wen), takes a new job there. Adjusting to life in a new country proves difficult, and Li unexpectedly finds himself pulled into the world of karate after catching the eye of a local champion. Soon, he’s faced with the challenge of competing in a high-stakes karate tournament. To prepare, his kung fu mentor, Mr. Han (Jackie Chan), teams up with legendary karate master Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio). Together, they train Li in a fusion of kung fu and karate, pushing him to discover his strength, discipline, and resilience.
The original Karate Kid (John G. Avildsen – 1984) spawned several sequels: The Karate Kid Part II (1986), Part III (1989), The Next Karate Kid (1994), and the 2010 reboot starring Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith. After 15 years, Karate Kid: Legends returns, blending nostalgia with a fresh new story for a new generation.
