Kangaroo
Chris Masterman (Ryan Corr), a TV host, suffers a career setback after rescuing a baby dolphin that later dies, leading to his dismissal. Accepting a new job offer in Broome, Western Australia, Chris finds himself stranded in Silver Sands after his car breaks down. There, he meets Charlie (Lily Whiteley), an Aboriginal girl who takes him on a heartfelt mission: to rescue and rehabilitate a group of orphaned baby kangaroos deep in the Australian outback. Their journey, filled with challenges and adventure, transforms both Chris’s and Charlie’s lives.
Inspired by the true story of Chris “Brolga” Barns, founder of The Kangaroo Sanctuary in Alice Springs, the film was shot across Alice Springs and Sydney. Kangoroo blends heartfelt drama with comedic elements while spotlighting wildlife conservation. The Indonesian Film Censorship Institution (LSF) has rated the film suitable for viewers aged 13 and plus. (ind)
