Ristiana (Nirina Zubir), a single mother, lives with her three children: Tama (Refal Hady), Dewi (Amanda Manopo), and Tria (Saputra Kori). They lead a modest life after being left by Ridho (Dwi Sasono), the head of the family. Ristiana works hard to raise her children on her own. However, her relationship with them begins to grow distant after she decides to sell their house in order to pay off the debts left behind by her husband.
The family drama Jangan Buang Ibu is adapted from the popular novel Jangan Buang Ibu, Nak (2014) by Wahyu Derapriyangga. The Indonesian Film Censorship Board (LSF) has classified the film for audiences aged 13 and above. (fat)
