It's My Time
Zhao Yanhong (Michelle Yeoh), a 70-year-old grandmother, lives in a nursing home with her best friend, Shuzhen (SaRina), who enjoys stirring up trouble. Meanwhile, Wu Youwei (Li Haoran), a former renowned Rubik’s Cube champion, finds his life in turmoil due to mounting debt. After Zhao Yanhong manages to solve a Rubik’s Cube within the time limit set by Wu Youwei, they decide to enter a world championship in blindfolded Rubik’s Cube solving. Zhao Yanhong is supported by Wu Youwei as her Rubik’s Cube coach, Dong Dawei (Bai Ke) as her manager, as well as her son Lao Wan (Tongshen Han) and daughter-in-law Manting (Xi Qi).
The film is inspired by the true story of Zhao Wenying, a retired teacher from Zhejiang who became the fastest person to solve a Rubik’s Cube blindfolded at the age of 70. In the film, actress Michelle Yeoh not only plays the lead role but also serves as an executive producer. Yeoh received the Asian Filmmaker of the Year award at the 2026 Busan International Film Festival for It’s My Time. The Indonesian Film Censorship Institution (LSF) has classified the film for audiences aged 13 and above. (miq)
