The Intern
WOO22, a fashion startup led by Lee Seon U (Han So Hee), recruits Kim Gi Ho (Choi Min Sik), a 57-year-old man, as an intern. Despite being a newcomer to the fashion industry, WOO22 has emerged as a dark horse, earning recognition as a leading company within just three years. Kim Gi Ho's arrival introduces new dynamics into a workplace dominated by younger generations. Although he has decades of professional experience, Kim must adapt to modern technology and unfamiliar workplace practices.
The film is a Korean remake of The Intern (Nancy Meyers, 2015), starring Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway. This Korean adaptation is directed by Kim Do-young, known for the romantic film Once We Were Us (2025), which was also a remake of the Chinese film Us and Them (Rene Liu, 2018). Exploring workplace conflicts and intergenerational relationships, The Intern has been classified by the Indonesian Film Censorship Institution (LSF) for audiences aged 13 and above. (tal)
