Ibuku
A mother, Sumiati (Christine Hakim), races against time to save the life of her daughter, Sri (Ayushita Nugraha). Sri, who works as a migrant worker in Saudi Arabia, is facing the death penalty. Amid limited resources and mounting time pressure, Sumiati must overcome various bureaucratic obstacles and the distance separating them. She is determined to meet her daughter and seek clemency on her behalf.
Ibuku was selected for the main competition at the 2026 Busan International Film Festival, where it had its international premiere. The film had previously won project funding at the Asian Project Market in Busan in 2015. Director Eddie Cahyono, one of the founders of Fourcolours Films, has an acclaimed track record through his previous feature film, Siti(2014). The film won Best Film and Best Original Screenplay at the 2015 Indonesian Film Festival (FFI) Citra Awards, as well as Best Cinematography and Best Screenplay at the 2015 Shanghai International Film Festival. The Indonesian Film Censorship Institution (LSF) has classified Ibuku for audiences aged 17 and above. Be discerning in selecting content suitable for your age. (arr)
